Ways to Donate

Donate your Materials to the Library
Bring us your new and used books, magazines, Music CDs, audiobooks, and DVDs. Your generous donations help us grow by increasing the variety of our materials and resources. Donated materials will be added to the collection if they are needed and if they meet the selection standards that are applied to all materials added to the collection. When a donation is not added to the library's collection, it may be sent to the Bedford Library Friends for resale. All proceeds benefit the library. All your gifts are tax deductible.
We appreciate any donations you are able to give to the library. We are looking for gently used materials that are in good condition - not dusty, dirty, yellowed, damaged, mildewed/smelly or bug infested.

Give Money
The Library actively encourages monetary donations. Determination as to the expenditure of such gifts will remain with the Library. All donations are tax-deductible.

Bedford Library Foundation
The Bedford Public Library Foundation seeks to promote a secure financial future by raising funds for an endowment.  Their goal is to enrich, not replace, traditional tax-based support for the library through gifts, grants and bequests from individuals and organizations to support library programs and projects not normally met by public funding.

The Foundation raises money through Naming Rights, sponsorships, the Christmas Fest Craft Sale and the annual Mardi Gras Gala.

Bedford Library Friends
The Bedford Library Friends are a group of community citizens who share a common desire to perpetuate the growth and to promote the interest and the welfare of the Bedford Public Library as a cultural and educational asset to the City of Bedford. Bedford Library Friends host activities and events for the Library that help to foster community involvement and cultural awareness, support the enjoyment of the Library and its resources, and conduct fund-raisers to help the Library with funding over and above the Library budget.

Annual dues of members, monetary contributions (tax deductible) and monies from the sale of used books, Friends T-shirts, book bags, and other useful items enable the Friends to provide added funds to the Library for services, equipment and programs. They also accept book donations from the public.
